On the physical level the Heart Chakra (also called Anahata Chakra) controls our breathing, the action of the heart and the circulation of blood. This chakra is placed behind the sternum in the spinal cord and produces the anti-bodies till the age of twelve years. These anti-bodies are circulated into the whole body to be ready to fight any kind of attack on the body or mind. If there is any attack on the person, these antibodies are informed through the sternum.
Stress at heart is caused by insecurity. If you travel by plane You may have noticed how stressed out are the airhostesses. They are always in a rush lest they miss the plane. Time bound jobs create stress. Overwork and mental stress puts pressure on the heart and stresses it. when the heart cannot bear the pressure anyone it collapses and we get a heart attack.
A Sahaja Yoga experiment was made in a mental asylum. Health check of the inmates revealed that they had not heart problems, because they don’t think so much. They had disorders in the brain functioning but their heart were robust. Excessive thinking, analyzing, planning dries up the right side, and the heat spreads to the heart chakra.
Fortunately, the heart has a tremendous emotional power we call Emotional Intelligence to bear the pressures from the brain. But if there is lack of intelligence in our emotional field then it cannot handle the pressure. Without Emotional Intelligence that heart loses its sensitive and makes one lonely, depressed, angry, unruly, prone to worry, impulsive and eventually aggressive. An aggressive heart means that the brain has overtaken the heart, and the person can have a stroke anytime.
Secondly when Emotional Intelligence is lacking fear enters the heart, and we start imagining all sorts of things. This leads to depression. But depression is not the same feeling when we lose a dear one. When we lose a dear one we feel sad not depressed.
It is important to release grief in tears else it remains pent up and puts pressure on the heart. Grief means the presence of love, which has felt the emotion of parting with someone it was attached to.
Whereas depression is an emptiness, void of love. Therefore it is difficult to Beat back and in sheer desperation people take to drugs. But that is not the answer. In Sahaja Yoga it is possible to bring the person in balance, and kindle back the font of love with the awakening of the kundalini.
