Qualities: Innocence, wisdom, chastity, sense of direction, balance, joy, purity, auspiciousness, simplicity.
Causes of Catch: Sexual excessiveness, tantric & occult practices.
Deities: Shri Ganesha.
In the body the Mooladhara Chakra controls the excretory functions, as well as sexual activity, and exerts a general control on the sympathetic nervous system.

Tension is created in our mooladhara by the obscene advertisements we see on TV, and movies. The tension makes our eyes roving, and we superimpose those scenes on the opposite sex. This spoils our attention.
Some people’s attention becomes so bad that this is all they think of, and they miss out on the innocence of life, and become frustrated. Frustration is tension in the mooladhara. Innocence is the quality of the Mooladhara and is very important because it relaxes us. See a small child in the family gives joy to everyone and brings the family together. The innocent smile of a child completely relaxes us.
